Touch screen with a long service life
In order to ensure a long service life of a touch screen, the scratch resistance of the surface is an important criterion.
Unattended, publicly accessible applications such as ATMs, ticket machines or kiosks in particular require a particularly robust surface.
But even in industrial or military applications, touchscreens are particularly susceptible to damage due to the harsh working environment.
With the patented ULTRA Glass Film Glass Touchscreen,Interelectronix offers a very robust solution that normally does not allow scratches on the surface in the first place. However, if a scratch occurs on the surface due to very high force, the functionality of the touchscreen is still ensured.
Scratch resistance due to tempered micro-glass
Polyester surfaces, as they are mostly used in resistive touchscreens, are easy to scratch, especially in a dusty industrial environment or in CNC machining processes. The fine metal powder permanently rubs against the polyester, making it milky opaque.
Interelectronix usually uses a 0.1 mm thick micro glass as the top layer of the patented ULTRA glass film glass touch screen. This is completely insensitive to mechanical scratching and thus significantly increases the service life of the touchscreen.

EVEN MORE ROBUST MICRO GLASS
For extreme use, we also offer a 0.2 mm thick micro glass layer on request.
Doubling the thickness of the glass does not increase the scratch resistance, because this is also completely given with thinner glass.
However, the thickness of the glass results in better impact resistance (interesting for applications that may be exposed to vandalism) and higher thermal resistance, which brings great advantages when welding or handling liquid metals in a working environment, for example.
