Interelectronix produces special touchscreens for indoor and outdoor kiosk systems, point of sales (POS) and point of information (POI) systems, which are used particularly frequently in retail. The touchscreen technology is ideally suited for implementation in retail, as it simplifies workflows and makes them more efficient and also enables simple self-service for customers to reduce personnel.

Touchscreens in retail applications are usually used intensively, as they are used by a large number of people and careful use cannot be monitored. Interelectronix manufactures touch screens using ULTRA Glas Film Glass technology, which, thanks to their extra robust microglass surface, are perfectly tailored to the demanding needs of retail applications.

In retail, touchscreens are used to make it easier for customers or sales staff to use the respective machine application. Interelectronix manufactures special touchscreens that are easy to operate thanks to the pressure-based ULTRA technology. With these GFG touchscreens, the user can trigger a touch with his bare finger, but also with gloves, cards or pens, while the capacitive touchscreens often used in POS systems cannot be operated with cards or gloves. ULTRA touchscreens are extremely scratch-resistant, so they will not be damaged even when operated with a pointed object. Since the careful handling of the touch systems is often not guaranteed, especially in kiosk applications, scratch resistance is an important quality feature for the touchscreen.

Whether it's a self-service kiosk or a check-out POS system – the integrated touchscreens are used by many different people and are often soiled or doused with liquids due to careless actions. The ULTRA touchscreens, which Interelectronix developed for such applications, are characterized by their resistance to cleaning and disinfecting agents and are also completely waterproof. This is the only way to guarantee the reliability and longevity of the touchscreen.

With ULTRA GFG, Interelectronix has specialized in the individual production of very robust outdoor kiosks. Here, particular emphasis is placed on two features: The touch panels must be impact-resistant and therefore vandal-proof as well as insensitive to weather conditions. The ULTRA technology not only withstands extreme temperatures, it is also completely waterproof. The extremely hard microglass surface makes the touchscreens not only scratch-resistant, but also impact-resistant. This makes ULTRA Glas Film Glass touchscreens from Interelectronix ideal for outdoor use.

Banks are increasingly using touchscreen monitors for transfer terminals or ATMs in the self-service area of branches. As in retail, these are usually kiosk systems that are operated by the clientele themselves. High demands are placed on scratch resistance, detergent resistance, user-friendliness and water resistance.
