At the beginning of the year, the Finnish company "Canatu", in cooperation with "Faurecia", presented its transparent, flexible multi-touch interface for the first time as part of the Stuttgart innovation platform "Startup Autobahn". This is a technology program for company founders that is supported by well-known institutions such as Daimler, Plug and Play, University of Stuttgart and ARENA2036 as founding partners as well as HPE/DXC, Porsche, BASF, ZF, DPDHL as anchor partners.
CNB for Automotive
With the CNB touch sensor applications (CNB = Carbon Nano Bud) developed by the start-up company "Canatu", any surface in the automotive sector, from the center console to displays for the rear seats to car keys, can be converted into a touchscreen with multifunctional properties. The following video shows the product presentation for the innovation platform at the beginning of 2017.
The advantage of CNB touch foils is that they are very flexible and pliable. Ideal for car fittings. The transparency is very high at 90 - 98% and it hardly reflects. If the foils are attached to the windscreen or side windows, for example, the view is not impaired.
On the company's website you can find out more about the patented CNB applications. You can find the link to the Startup Autobahn in our reference. We think that the innovation platform is a great opportunity for young, innovative companies (not only for product developments in the touchscreen sector) to draw attention to themselves. By the way, the application phase for 2017 is still running at the time of this blog posting.
